My partner and I engaged Cathy for a full search service in October 2024. With her help, we bought our home within 4 weeks! My partner and I initially had a list of suburbs in mind to begin our search. Based on this list and further discussion, Cathy quickly grasped which combinations of qualities we valued in a home and suggested suburbs that we hadn’t considered that recreated those features. We ended up buying in a suburb we didn’t even know existed but that fit our criteria perfectly– and in some ways, it suited our needs better than our “dream” location and for a better price! Cathy also has connections with real estate agents that allow her to gain close updates about the property market in real time. She has deep knowledge on agents who frequently service the areas we searched in and their patterns/ style of marketing and selling property. This then informed her strategy on how to approach open home inspections, enquiries and especially negotiations. Cathy made the entire buying process so smooth-sailing. It allowed us to focus on the fun of buying a property while Cathy took care of all the stressors. She has the best communication out of all professionals in any industry that I’ve ever dealt with– detailed, responsive, clear and extremely proactive in her updates. She is very thorough with due diligence and did far more than I would’ve, e.g. turning on a shower and lightly scrubbing at markings on shower tiles to see if they were permanent, or spending days going back and forth with the real estate agent to follow up on getting key documents, or making phone calls on our behalf to Sydney Water to get information on the property’s exact plumbing configuration and history. She gave us her full honest thoughts about every property we visited, including suggestions on how to increase the value of the home once we move in. She also helped us understand the nuance and various factors that go into the pricing of a property, e.g. houses on our street were priced differently from most other houses in the suburb, and she pointed out many features (good and bad) that I personally overlooked when comparing our property to recent sales. Finally, Cathy is a powerhouse at negotiations, and helped us get a far better price for our property than we could have gotten ourselves. It’s clear that Cathy loves a good deal as much as we do, and she was so strategic about how and when she communicated with real estate agents. She was very transparent throughout the negotiation process which spanned several days and always consulted us before making any decisions or offers. Overall, my partner and I had an overwhelmingly positive experience and we highly recommend Cathy. I know that for any future home we buy, we will most definitely be engaging Cathy’s services again and again.
