How buyer's agent fees work

Across Australia, buyer's agents charge either a percentage of the purchase price, commonly 1% to 3%, or a fixed fee from a few thousand dollars to about $15,000 for most homes, often with an engagement fee of $1,000 to $5,000 at signing that comes off the final invoice.
